Rolf Müller (politician)
Rolf Müller (born December 1, 1947 in Gelnhausen ) is an association official and former German politician ( CDU ). From 1978 to 1988 and again from 2003 to 2014 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament and from 1989 to 1991 State Secretary in the Hessian State Chancellery .
education and profession
After graduating from the Grimmelshausenschule in Gelnhausen in 1966 , Rolf Müller studied German and political science at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main until 1972 . From 1972 to 1974 he worked as a clerk at the Wolfgang-Ernst-Gymnasium in Büdingen from 1974 to 1978 teacher at the vocational schools in Gelnhausen. In 1987, Müller was awarded a PhD with his dissertation “Comedy in the Atomic Age”. phil. PhD.
From 1991 and 1992 he worked as an assistant to the management of the company “Dähler & Co” in Fulda and from 1991 to 2000 he held teaching positions at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University and at the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences . From 1992 to 2003 he worked again as a teacher at the Grimmelshausenschule in Gelnhausen.
Müller is Protestant , widowed and has a second marriage to the former judge at the Federal Social Court and Hessian Minister of Social Affairs, Marlies Mosiek-Urbahn . He is the father of two daughters.
In addition to his dissertation “Comedy in the Atomic Age”, Müller has also published as an author: “Old Gelnhauser Telling” (in two volumes, 1980 and 1991); “Clownesque Reality”, an interpretation of Heinrich Böll's novel “ Views of a Clown ”; “Between discontinued model and hope for the future”, essay on the future role of sports clubs ; "Dear Handkäs ' as a worst case," a critical examination of the phenomenon of " Denglischen ".
politics
Müller is a member of the CDU. From 1970 to 1978 he was a city councilor in Gelnhausen and from 1974 to 2012 a member of the district council of the Main-Kinzig district , there from 1990 as parliamentary group chairman.
Müller first belonged to the Hessian state parliament on December 1, 1978. He resigned his mandate on December 31, 1988 in order to take up the position of spokesman for the Hessian state government on January 1, 1989 as State Secretary in the Hessian State Chancellery . After the CDU / FDP government of Prime Minister Walter Wallmann lost its majority in the 1991 state elections , Müller resigned from office when the new red-green state government took office on April 5, 1991.

Rolf Müller won the direct mandate in his constituency several times : 1978 and 1982 in constituency 41 (Main-Kinzig-Kreis-Mitte), 1987 , 2003 , 2008 and 2009 in constituency 42 ( Main-Kinzig III ). Other functions and offices
As a representative of the state parliament, Rolf Müller belonged to the Broadcasting Council of the Hessian Broadcasting Corporation from 1987 to 1989 . He has been a member of the committee again since January 2001, this time as a representative of the State Sports Association of Hesse , of which he has been President since 1997. Since 2001 he has also been chairman of the “Gelnhausen 1924 swimming club”. V. ”, of which he has been a member since 1965. Honors
In 1988 Rolf Müller was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon . In 2007 he received the sports badge of the state of Hesse . In 2015 he was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class. On December 1, 2017, Prime Minister Volker Bouffier awarded him the Hessian Order of Merit.
