Romain Guillaume (born February 3, 1985 in Lons-le-Saunier ) is a French triathlete . He is Ironman winner (2012, 2014) and is included in the best list of French triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Guillaume started his first triathlon at the age of eight. At the Ironman Hawaii in 2008 he was runner-up in the age group 18-24.

In February 2010, he also achieved a place among the top three in the long distance at the Ironman Malaysia for the first time ( Ironman distance: 3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

In September he finished second at the Ironman Wisconsin.

Ironman winner 2012

In August 2012, he won the first Ironman Mont-Tremblant in Canada. In June 2013 he finished 23rd at the Triathlon World Championship on the long distance in Belfort.

At the Ironman Hawaii in October 2014, Romain Guillaume was the second fastest Frenchman (behind Cyril Viennot , 5th place), tenth place. In November 2017, the then 32-year-old scored his third Ironman victory at Ironman Malaysia .

In July 2019, the 34-year-old won the EDF Alpe d'Huez triathlon in the long distance (2.2 km swimming, 118 km cycling and 20 km running).

His nickname is Rome . He starts for the BMC-Etixx Pro Triathlon Team .
