HB Käerjeng

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

HB Käerjeng , officially Handball Käerjeng , just HBK for short , is a Luxembourg handball club from Niederkerschen ( French Bascharage ) in the municipality of Käerjeng . The club colors are green-black.

history

The club was founded in 1974 as "Handball Club Bascharage" ( HC Bascharage , later HBC Bascharage ). As a result of the administrative incorporation , a general assembly on June 27, 2012 decided to rename the club to “Handball Käerjeng” (HB Käerjeng).

The women's team has been the flagship of Luxembourg handball for over three decades and celebrated a total of 29 national championship titles and 19 cup wins between 1976 and 2009. To promote competitiveness, the women have been taking part in games run by the Rhineland handball association since September 2006 . A rise beyond the borders of the national association was denied to the Luxembourg club, so that on March 19, 2009 the Roude Léiw Bascharage was founded, based in Trier . The second women's team as well as the men remained in the Luxembourg game operation. The greatest success of the Roude Léiw was the championship in the western season of the 3rd division in spring 2011 , in April 2017 the women withdrew from the German game and were again Luxembourg champions the following season.

The club is 33-time Luxembourg champion and 24-time Luxembourg cup winner.
