EHF European Women's Cup Winners' Cup 1996/97

On EHF UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1996/97 took 30 Handball -Vereinsmannschaften part from 29 countries. They qualified in the previous season in their home countries in the cup competition for the European Cup . At the 21st edition of the cup winners' competition, Istochnik Rostow was the first time a team from Russia won the cup.

1 round

The first round of the 1st round took place between 11th and 19th October and the second leg between 13-20. October 1996.
