European Cup Winners' Cup (handball) 1993/94

In the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup 1993/94 , 34 handball club teams took part, which had qualified for the competition in their home countries in the previous season in the cup competition. It was the 19th edition of the European Cup Winners' Cup and the first to be organized by the newly founded EHF . The cup games began on August 28, 1993 and ended with the second final game on April 30, 1994. In the final, the Spanish club FC Barcelona prevailed against the French defending champion OM Vitrolles .

mode

The competition started with two games in one elimination round. The winners advanced to the sixteenth finals, in which other, higher ranked teams entered. All rounds including the final were carried out in a knockout system with a return leg.

The first leg took place on April 24, 1994 in Vitrolles and the second leg on April 30, 1994 in Barcelona . FC Barcelona's participation in the finals marks the beginning of an uninterrupted series of finalists from Spain for the next 14 years in the European Cup Winners' Cup.
