On EHF UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1995/96 35 took Handball part -Vereinsmannschaften, who qualified in the previous season in their home countries in the cup competition for the competition. It was the 21st edition of the European Cup Winners' Cup. The defending champion was FC Barcelona . The cup games began on September 2, 1995 and ended with the second final game on April 27, 1996. In the final, the German club TBV Lemgo prevailed against the Spanish representative CB Cantabria Santander .
The competition started with three games in one elimination round. The winners advanced to the sixteenth finals, in which other, higher ranked teams entered. All rounds including the final were carried out in a knockout system with a return leg.
