Around the financial center Eschborn-Frankfurt 2010 was the 49th edition of the Frankfurt cycling classic , which this year bore this name for the first time. The bike race traditionally took place on May 1st and was part of the UCI Europe Tour 2010 , where it was classified in the highest category 1.HC. The race started in Eschborn and then led through the Taunus . Due to road damage, however, the Feldberg could not be crossed this year as usual , but it had to be turned before reaching the summit. The goal was reached after 201.7 kilometers in Frankfurt at the Alte Oper . The winner was Fabian Wegmann , who secured the race victory in the final sprint ahead of Geert Verheyen and Bert Scheirlinckx .

Attendees

Four ProTeams took part in the bike race: Team Milram , HTC-Columbia , Rabobank and Katjuscha . The Professional Continental Teams ISD-Neri , Topsport Vlaanderen , Landbouwkrediet , Vacansoleil , Vorarlberg-Corratec , Skil-Shimano , Saur-Sojasun and CCC Polsat also took part. The Continental teams Kuota-Indeland , Nutrixxion , LKT Brandenburg , Heizomat , NetApp and Seven Stones were also at the start.

The favorites were last year's winner Fabian Wegmann , last year's third Christian Knees and Linus Gerdemann from Milram, Tony Martin from HTC-Columbia, Filippo Pozzato from Katjuscha and Bram Tankink from Rabobank. André Greipel from HTC-Columbia and Robbie McEwen from Katjuscha were favored for a mass sprint .
