Sabrodt ( Zabrod in Lower Sorbian ) is a residential area belonging to the Trebatsch district of the Tauche community in the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg . Until it was incorporated into Trebatsch on January 1, 1973, Sabrodt was an independent municipality.

location

Sabrodt is located on the extreme southern edge of the Beeskower Platte , immediately north of the village of Trebatsch, the development of the two villages is separated by the Spree . Other surrounding villages are Ranzig in the north, Glowe in the northeast, Sarkow in the east, Rocher in the west and Briescht in the northwest. The Sawaller Altarm flows southwest of Sabrodt into the Spree, between Sabrodt and the neighboring village of Glowe lies the Glower See .

The federal highway 87 between Lübben and Frankfurt (Oder) leads directly through the place.

history

Sabrodt was first mentioned in a document in 1490 under the name Sabrot , the place name is derived from the Lower Sorbian brod and describes a settlement on a ford , it refers to the location of the village on the Spree. In 1737 Sabrodt became part of the newly formed Trebatsch Domain Office , which was incorporated into the royal rule of Wusterhausen . For a long time Sabrodt was only connected to the neighboring town of Trebatsch by a ferry, a wooden drawbridge was only built later over the Spree, and in 1745 a bridge toll was levied for the first time . In 1928 the wooden bridge was replaced by a reinforced concrete structure.

While belonging to the Kingdom of Prussia from 1816, Sabrodt belonged to the Beeskow-Storkow district in the province of Brandenburg . In 1874 the now so called Fideikommißamt Trebatsch was dissolved. On April 1, 1938, the communities Sabrodt, Sawall and Trebatsch were merged to form the new community " Leichhardt ", the Sorbian place names of all three places were deleted. In 1945 the bridge over the Spree was blown up. After the end of the war, the municipality of Leichhardt was dissolved and all three villages were given their original place names again. On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Sabrodt moved to the district of Lübben (Spreewald) .

The district of Lübben was dissolved on July 25, 1952, from then on Sabrodt belonged to the newly founded district of Beeskow in the district of Frankfurt (Oder) . In 1956, the Spree Bridge, which was destroyed in World War II, was rebuilt. On January 1, 1973, Sabrodt was incorporated into Trebatsch together with the Sawall community. After German reunification , Sabrodt belonged to the district of Beeskow until December 1993 , which eventually merged with the districts of Fürstenwalde and Eisenhüttenstadt to form the Oder-Spree district . On December 31, 2001, the municipality of Trebatsch and its districts were incorporated into Tauche .
