Safnern is a municipality in the Biel / Bienne administrative district in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .

Safnern is located in the Bernese Seeland at the foot of the Büttenberg. The neighboring communities starting from the north in a clockwise direction are Pieterlen , Meinisberg , Büren an der Aare , Meienried , Scheuren BE , Orpund and Biel / Bienne .
