The Scharren nature reserve near Dockendorf is in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The approximately 5  hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1983 , extends south of the local community of Dockendorf . Not far to the west and north runs the county road  16 and east the K 17. Not far to the east the Nims flows .

The purpose of the protection is to preserve the Keuperkuppe with its slopes for geological reasons and as a habitat for rare animal and plant species that are threatened in their existence.
