The Weiherwiese nature reserve near St. Thomas is located in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The four hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1987 , extends north of the local parish of Sankt Thomas . The state road L 24 runs not far to the west and the Kyll flows not far to the east .

Protective purpose is the preservation and development of wetlands - ecosystems in Kylltal, in particular spring swamps , pastures thickets , United seggenrieder , Bach reedbeds and high perennials corridors as well as Ruderal rare -Standorten as a habitat in their inventory of endangered animal and plant species, especially amphibians - Bird and insect species .
