The Ourschleife / Falkenstein nature reserve is located in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The 270 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1984 , extends southwest and southeast of the local community of Waldhof-Falkenstein along the Our . The border with Luxembourg runs along the edge of the area . The state road L 1 runs to the east .

The purpose of the protection is preservation

• of the deciduous forest ecosystem with its well-developed vegetation zoning and the outstanding abundance of insects as well as the mosaic-like interlocking dry grass and heather areas with their typical communities,
• the natural streams with their flora and fauna,
• of the landscape-defining character of the Ourschleife.
