Rohrmaar near Scharfbillig

The Rohrmaar nature reserve near Scharfbillig is located in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The 2.21 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1989 , extends southwest of the local community of Scharfbillig . The L 39 state road runs not far to the south and the B 51 to the west .
The purpose of the protection is to maintain, secure and develop a nutrient-rich wetland in the Bitburger Gutland as a habitat and retreat for characteristic wetland inhabitants, especially bird and insect species, whose population is threatened .
