Clay pits near Speicher
Coordinates: 49 ° 56 ′ 25 ″ N , 6 ° 39 ′ 4 ″ E
The Tongruben nature reserve near Speicher is located in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The approximately 35 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1997 , extends in the northeastern area of the city of Speicher on both sides of the state road L 39.
The purpose of protection is the preservation and development of a complex of different secondary biotopes in the area of former clay pits .
