The song by the Red Sea (Hebrew Schirat Hajam , Hebrew שִירַת הַיָּם, Eng. "Song of the Sea"), also known as "As Jaschir Mosche [...]" ( Hebrew אָז יָשִׁיר מֹשֶׁה; dt. " Back then Moses sang  [...]") is a poem from Ex 15.1-18  ELB , which u. a. in Judaism in the daily morning prayer ( Shacharit ) is prayed.

The song describes the events of the exodus from Egypt : the crossing of the Red Sea, the destruction of the Egyptian army and the future conquest of Canaan . The poem also forms the first ode of the Greek Orthodox hymn canon (see Book of Odes ), known as the Song of Moses or Ode of Moses . It is also used in the Roman Catholic liturgy . (Another "Song of Moses", the second in the Book of Odes, is Deut. 32 : 1-43  EU ).

At that time Moshe and the sons of Israel sang this song to God; They said:
God I would like to sing how high He was,
horse and Reuter he hurled into the sea!
My victory and song is God,
That was my salvation;
From now on he is my God, I want to be his place.

Pharaoh's chariot and his army

For Pharaoh's horse with his chariots and his reeds came into the sea, and God brought back the water of the sea over them, and the sons of Jisrael would walk dry in the middle of the sea!
For God becomes rulership and rules among the peoples. They go up to mount Zion as savior, he will judge mount Esaw, and God will rule. God will then be King over the whole earth, on that day God will be unique and his name will be unique.
