Schleinsee is a municipality Kressbronn am Bodensee in Baden-Württemberg Bodenseekreis in Germany .

location

Schleinsee , which until 1829 belonged to the municipality of Tannau , today a district of Tettnang , is located around four kilometers northeast of the center of Kressbronn, named after Schleinsee .

In the north-west lies the Tettnang district of Unterwolfertsweiler , north-east Wielandsweiler , east Busenhaus am Degersee and south-east Wettis . In the south lies Riedensweiler and to the southwest Nitzenweiler borders on Schleinsee.

Schleinsee

At the foot of the village lies the 14.1  hectare large, maximum 12.1 meter deep Schleinsee. Like the Degersee 400 meters to the east, about twice as large , the Schleinsee emerged as a meltwater lake at the end of the last Ice Age around 15,000 years ago.

Schachried nature reserve

The approximately eleven hectare nature reserve Schachried is located south of Schleinsee . Essentially, the protection aims at the preservation and upgrading of the large flat moor complex with various types of biotopes. Special protection is given to the preservation of the bog soils as well as the meadow and pipe grass meadows with their flora and fauna.

traffic

The district road 7777 connects Schleinsee via Nitzenweiler and Berg with Kressbronn as well as via Wielandsweiler, Busenhaus, the hamlet Degersee and Oberwolfertsweiler with Hiltensweiler .

Schleinsee is integrated into the local public transport network via line 235 (Kressbronn-Hiltensweiler-Kressbronn) of the Bodensee-Oberschwaben Verkehrsverbund (bodo).

Hiking trails

Several signposted hiking trails run through Schleinsee, including the first stage of the Bodenseekreis Jubilee Trail , which leads from Kressbronn train station to Neukirch . At the vantage point above the lake, hikers can enjoy a wonderful view of the Schleinsee, countless blossoming fruit trees and Lake Constance - across to the 2,502 meter high Säntis in the Appenzellerland .

Assumption Chapel

Assumption chapel with former chaplaincy

The Chapel of St. Mary was built in just 100 days after the foundation stone was laid on July 18, 1737. It was donated together with the chaplain by Johann Melchior Sauter (born in 1686 from a Montfortic Schupflehenhof in Schleinsee), who at the time was 51 years old and was the dean of the Lindau regional chapter in Wasserburg . The final consecration took place by the Constance Auxiliary Bishop Count Fugger on July 7th, 1746. The architecture of the chapel reflects the formal language and theme of the Baroque . Inside, the altarpieces, framed by figures of Saints John of Nepomuk and Franz Xaver , show an ascension, in the choir and on the side altars the adoration of the kings and the Holy Family.
The chapel comes into focus every year on August 15, when the patronage is celebrated on Assumption of Mary .

Chaplain House

To the right of the chapel is the former chaplain’s house , a two-storey, representative stone building with a square floor plan.

House in a courtyard

A few meters east of the chapel is the manor house ( No. 3 ) from the Art Nouveau period , built in 1904 . It was built over a vaulted cellar of the previous building dated to 1720.

A few years ago, all three of these sights were designated as cultural monuments on the basis of the register of immovable architectural and art monuments of the State Monuments Office of Baden-Württemberg drawn up on February 28, 1983 .
