Swiss floorball championship 2016/17

The Swiss Floorball Championship 2016/17 is the 35th season of the Floorball Championship.

At the National League A 12 teams took part, with the first eight coming into the playoffs and the rest in two Playoutpartien determines who against the two playoff winner of the National League B play for the league needs. As of this season, the National League B also contains 12 clubs and is played in the same mode as the National League A.

Playouts

The playouts consist of two games, namely the ninth against the twelfth placed and the tenth against the eleventh placed. It is played in the best-of-seven mode, with the losers of the games having to take part in the promotion / relegation games.

The playouts will take place from March 4th to 19th, 2017. The UHC Waldkirch-St. Gallen will remain in the National League A in the 2017/18 season. The third game of the St. Gallen team was decided in extremis. Waldkirch-St. Gallen was given a free kick two seconds before the end of the game when the score was 6: 6. Then Waldkirch-St. Gallen to replace the goalkeeper with a sixth field player. With six field players, the eastern Swiss scored the winning goal through Chris Eschbach at the same time as the final siren.

The UHC Uster also remains by winning the best-of-seven series in the National League A.

In the ascent / descent Games Playoutverlierer the NLA need in a best-of-seven series against the two playoff winners of the National League B compete. According to the spelling of Swiss Unihockey, they represent the NLB's promotion playoffs.

The quarter-finals will take place from March 3rd to 19th, 2017. The victory of the Regazzi Verbano UH Gordola in the fifth game is the closest decision in Swiss floorball so far. It was the first time that a playout series was decided in a penalty shootout in the fifth game.

Promotion / relegation games NLB / 1. league

In the promotion / relegation games, the playout losers of the NLB have to compete in a best-of-five series against the two winners of the playoff games of the first and second placed in the two first division groups.

Unihockey Friborg and Unihockey Luzern, as well as Pfannenstiel and the UHC Zuger Highlands, face each other in the playoff final of the 1st league Grossfeld . The winner of each game takes on the loser of the National League B playout series. Both lower-class teams are promoted to the National League B.
