The transmitter Jauerling is a hybrid tower of ORS on the Jauerling in Lower Austria , which for the spread of FM -Hörfunk- and television programs and the radio is used. The internal name is ST.PÖLTEN .
General
The Jauerling transmission tower was built from 1955 to 1958 and, as a hybrid tower, is characterized by an unusual design. The 141 m high antenna tower mast consists of a free-standing, around 35 m high steel lattice tower as a substructure, on which the directional radio antennas are also located on two levels, and an upper part that is triple braced on three levels on the ground with, among other things, VHF and TV antennas. The upper part is an approximately 80 m high tubular mast construction on which an approx. 25 m high GRP antenna cylinder is mounted.
The Jauerling transmitter is the main transmitter for the greater St. Pölten area and the Waldviertel , with the exception of the area around Gmünd .
Directional radio station
The Jauerling transmission tower is not only a VHF transmitter with a long range, but is also an important radio relay station for the so-called “east-west route”, which also includes air traffic control and air traffic control. The next relay stations with which this transmitter is connected via radio links in the frequency range from 7 GHz to 7.4 GHz are the Sonntagberg radio link to the west; eastwards the directional radio station Exelberg .
Another transmitter on the Jauerling
There is another transmitter not far from this transmitter. This is a relay station u. a. for fire brigade and police radio. There is also a cellular base station.

Digital radio ( DAB + )
On December 11, 2019, the Jauerling broadcaster began broadcasting the first Austria-wide MUX in the DAB + standard. DAB is broadcast in vertical polarization and in single-frequency mode with other transmitters.
