The 2004/05 season of the Italian Serie B began on September 10, 2004 with the game FC Turin against Hellas Verona (3: 1) and ended on June 11, 2005. Champions was FC Empoli . FBC Treviso and Ascoli Calcio were also able to rise , replacing the actual promoted AC Turin and AC Perugia , who were sentenced to relegation due to the withdrawal of their license. AC Venice , Salernitana Sport are also relegated . None of the four relegated members rose to the third highest division in a sporting way. The top scorer was Gionatha Spinesi from AC Arezzo with 22 goals this season.
