geography

Stary Waliszów is located on a side road that branches off the main road Kłodzko - Bystrzyca Kłodzka at Zabłocie to the east. history

Altwaltersdorf was first mentioned in 1269 as Villa Waltheri . It belonged to the Habelschwerdter district in the Glatzer Land , with which it shared the history of its political and ecclesiastical affiliation. The St. Laurentius Church, also mentioned in 1269, is included in a directory of the parish churches of the Glatzer deanery for 1384.

The village initially consisted of several parts that were owned by the von Pannwitz and von Ratschin families . After Hans von Ratschin was partially expropriated because of his participation in the Bohemian class uprising , his Altwaltersdorfer share came in 1628 to Johann Arbogast von Annenberg , who incorporated this share into his rule in Arnsdorf ( Grafenort ). At the beginning of the 18th century Altwaltersdorf belonged to Count Franz Paul von Wallis . After his death in 1737, his brother Georg Olivier von Wallis inherited his possessions , from whom they passed in 1744 to his only son Stephan Olivier von Wallis (* 1832).

After the Silesian Wars , Altwaltersdorf and the county of Glatz fell to Prussia in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg . In 1783 Stephan Olivier von Wallis sold the goods he had inherited from his father to Friedrich Wilhelm Graf von Schlabrendorf on Hassitz und Stolz. After the reorganization of Prussia, Altwaltersdorf belonged to the province of Silesia from 1815 and was initially incorporated into the district of Glatz. In 1818 it was reorganized into the newly formed district of Habelschwerdt , to which it belonged until 1945. In 1939 there were 1,279 inhabitants.

As a result of the Second World War , Altwaltersdorf fell to Poland in 1945, like almost all of Silesia, and was renamed Stary Waliszów . The German population was expelled. Some of the new residents were displaced from eastern Poland . 1975–1998 Stary Waliszów belonged to the Wałbrzych Voivodeship (German Waldenburg ).
