The stone mill is an abandoned part of the municipality of Greding in the Middle Franconian district of Roth in Bavaria .

location

The lost district was located in the southern Franconian Jura about 400 m east of Großhöbing on the left of the Schwarzach and on the right of the federal motorway 9 .

history

The stone mill belonged lordly to the cathedral chapter of Eichstätt . Located in the Palatinate-Neuburg territory, it was subject to the judicial office of Greding until the end of the Old Kingdom . Due to the secularization of the Hochstift Eichstätt, the mill became Grand Ducal Tuscan in 1802 . Only a little later, in 1806, the mill came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria and from there to the Großhöbing tax district . In 1818 the mill was the Gemeindeedikt in the newly formed Rural Municipality filed Großhöbing that besides the parish village Großhöbing and the desert stone mill nor the hamlet Günzenhofen and the desert Wildbad belonged. The community was part of the Raitenbuch regional court and, from 1812, the Greding regional court .

In 1805 the stone mill is said to have “a saw with you.” The miller was also a farmer; In 1823, when the miller's family consisted of three male and five female people, grain was grown and cattle ranched next to the operation of the grinding mill. In 1875 the miller had eleven head of cattle.

With the regional reform in Bavaria , Großhöbing and its parts of the municipality were incorporated into the city of Greding on April 1, 1971. After 1987 the mill was demolished.
