Architecture and history

The court is likely to go back to a medieval aristocratic or commercial court. The street-side, two-storey building was built in the Renaissance style in the early 17th century in a massive construction, which is unusual for Quedlinburg. There are four openings in the form of round arches on the ground floor. There is a splendidly designed vestment portal built from so-called diamond blocks . Sandstone walls have been preserved towards the courtyard . The gate entrance has profiled walls with fighters.

At the house there is a console figure, also made of sandstone, which presumably dates from the 16th century from a previous Gothic building.

In 1674 the house was restored. In 1797 a fire broke out, as a result of which the house was rebuilt and largely retained its current appearance. In 1905 the roof was removed and a half-timbered construction was set up there, which is based on the regional framework tradition.

The east wing of the courtyard was built from ashlar masonry and rebuilt in the 17th century.
