The area Stettener Bach is one with Regulation of 12 September 1990 of the Regional Council Stuttgart been instructed Nature Reserve (NSG number 1156) near the town of Esslingen and the community Aichwald in Baden-Württemberg district of Esslingen in Germany .
Location and purpose of protection
The 49.6 hectare nature reserve begins on the western outskirts of Aichschieß , a suburb of the Aichwald community . It includes the wooded valley of the Stettener Bach with side blades from the source in a north-easterly direction to the exit into the open meadows on the border with the Rems-Murr-Kreis. The Stettener Bach overcomes a height difference of 147 m (457-310 m) from its source area to the district boundary. The area belongs to the natural area Schönbuch and Glemswald .
The main protection purpose is the preservation of a landscape and biologically valuable, natural Keuperklinge in the virgin forest. The canyon forest fauna and flora should be preserved and promoted. The Stettener Bach and its immediate surroundings were placed under protection as a habitat for endangered and endangered animal and plant species.
