Stožok (until 1927 Slovak and "Stožky"; Hungarian Dombszög - to 1888 Sztossok ) is a municipality in the middle of Slovakia with a population of 1,058 (December 31, 2019), which in Okres Detva of, part Banskobystrický kraj located.
geography
The village is located on the left bank of the Slatina in the Zvolenská kotlina basin , in the Podpoľanie region. The center of the village lies at an altitude of 377 m nm and is six kilometers from Detva and 22 kilometers from Zvolen .
In terms of traffic, Stožok can be reached via a junction from state road 50 , where there is also a bus stop, or via the train station on the Salgótarján – Vrútky railway line .
history
The history of the place is relatively young, as it only emerged shortly after 1773 as a coherent place on the territory of the Vígľaš estate and replaced part of the individual farms (Slovak regional lazy ) that were widespread in the region .
