Slatinské Lazy is a municipality in the center of Slovakia with 544 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019), which is located in Okres Detva , part of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The community is located at the transition from the Zvolenská kotlina basin to the Javorie Mountains, partly along the Kocanský potok valley , otherwise on mostly deforested ridges. The town center is at an altitude of 550 m nm and is 16 kilometers from Detva and 20 kilometers from Zvolen .
Neighboring communities are Vígľaš in the north, Klokoč in the east, Vígľašská Huta-Kalinka in the south-west and Zvolenská Slatina in the north-west.
history
Today's municipal area was part of the so-called Sohl Forest in the Middle Ages and was royal property until 1424, after which it was owned by the nearby Vígľaš Castle. Some of the field names are reminiscent of Matthias Corvinus' frequent hunts in the second half of the 15th century. Permanent settlement has only existed since the 18th century and the small settlements (Slovak regional lazy ) were first mentioned in 1850 in connection with the establishment of an evangelical elementary school as part of the municipality of Zvolenská Slatina.
The area in Sohl County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then became part of Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. In 1930 (other information 1932) a total of eight settlements were spun off into today's municipality.

According to the 2011 census, Slatinské Lazy had 502 residents, including 467 Slovaks , four Czechs and one Magyar . One resident indicated a different ethnic group and 29 residents gave no information about the ethnic group.
264 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 143 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, as well as one resident each to the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Evangelical Methodist Church, the Greek Catholic Church, the Pentecostal Movement, the Reformed Church and the Czechoslovak Hussite Church; two residents professed a different denomination. 40 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 47 residents was not determined.
