The Cesta I. triedy 50 ( Slovak for '1st order street 50'), short I / 50 , was a 1st order street in Slovakia . With more than 400 kilometers, it was the longest road of this category in Slovakia and crossed the country from northwest to east. Larger cities that the road passed or touched were Trenčín , Prievidza , Zvolen , Rimavská Sobota , Košice and Michalovce . More or less it was part of European routes 50 , 58 , 77 , 571 and 572 .
By decision of the Slovak Ministry of Transport, the road was completely dismantled on August 1, 2015 and divided into four other road sections:
- The section from the Czech border near Drietoma - Ladomerská Vieska will become the new 1st order road 9
- The Ladomerská Vieska – Šášovské Podhradie section will become part of the existing 1st order road 65
- The Zvolen - Košice section will become the new 1st order 16 road
- Section Košice - Ukrainian border near Vyšné Nemecké will be the new 1st order road 19
The number I / 50 could still be used as an alternative until June 30, 2016.
