The Cesta I. triedy 74 ( Slovak for '1st order street 74'), I / 74 for short , is a 1st order street in Slovakia . It is located in the far east of the country and connects the cities of Strážske , Humenné and Snina before it ends at the state border between Slovakia and Ukraine .

The road can be divided into two parts.

The first, 34 km long section begins in Strážske in the eastern Slovakian lowlands and goes north to the town of Humenné on the banks of Laborec . From Humenné it turns east and follows the valley of the Cirocha , between Vihorlat in the south and the Low Beskydy mountains in the north, before reaching the town of Snina .

The second, 27 km long section initially runs to Stakčín , where the road leaves the Cirocha River and after a few kilometers crosses the pass near Kolonica in the heart of the Poloniny National Park . It ends at Ubľa on the Slovakia-Ukraine state border, which is also the EU's external border, and merges with the Ukrainian N 13 .
