The Cesta I. triedy 71 ( Slovak for '1st order street 71'), I / 71 for short , is a 1st order street in Slovakia . It is located in the south-center of the country and connects the cities of Lučenec and Fiľakovo with the Hungarian border at Šiatorská Bukovinka .

It begins outside Lučenec in the southern Slovak basin and runs south-east to Fiľakovo. Halfway there, it crosses the Ipeľ River . From Fiľakovo to the south, the road passes through the Cerová vrchovina before it ends at the Slovakia-Hungary border, 7 km before Salgótarján and merges into the Hungarian main road 21-es főút .

Before the 1990s, the road had a different route: it began in Pôtor , southwest of Lučenec and ran via Dolná Strehová , along the Hungarian border to Lučenec.
