Course of the road

The Cesta I. triedy 76 ( Slovak for '1st order street 76'), I / 76 for short , is a 1st order street in Slovakia . It is located in the west-center of the country and connects the town of Štúrovo on the Danube with the town of Hronský Beňadik , where there is a connection to the R1 expressway . The road can be referred to as the "Untergrantalstraße" because it completely follows the lower course of the Hron (Gran) on its right bank.

course

The road begins in Štúrovo and runs all the way north, mostly through the Danube lowlands . Except from Štúrovo, the only town directly on the route is Želiezovce . In Kalná nad Hronom there is a branch to the district town of Levice , 8 km to the east. The Mochovce nuclear power plant is located in the immediate vicinity of Kalná nad Hronom . Another town is Tlmače , whose center is on the left bank of the Hron. At the end at Hronský Beňadik the lowland ends and the Schemnitz Mountains and Pohronský Inovec are on the east and west side.
