The Cesta I. triedy 12 ( Slovak for '1st order street 12'), I / 12 for short , is a 1st order street in Slovakia . It is located in the far north of the country and connects the town of Svrčinovec with the Polish border at Skalité . It was built around 2003 from an upgraded part of the 2nd order street 487.
Parallel to this is the single-lane D3 motorway , construction of which began in this area in late 1997, but was only opened to traffic in June 2017.
course
The road begins as a junction of the 1st order road 11 from Čadca or Žilina and follows the valley of the Skaliťanka brook through the towns and districts of Čierne and Skalité . At the Príslop pass, it reaches the border and merges with the Polish expressway S1 (formerly S69) towards Bielsko-Biała .
