The Streithorst is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Bohmte in the district of Osnabrück .
The nature reserve with the sign NSG WE 131 is 6.9 hectares . It is located in the Streithorst district on the northern edge of Hunteburg in the lowland area of the Hunte and is a natural forest stand under protection. This is located in the former Gutspark of Gut Streithorst and is crossed by the course of the Yellow River, which flows into the Hunte a little east of the nature reserve. The Streithorst estate connects to the north of the nature reserve, which is largely surrounded by agricultural land .
The forest is characterized by natural ash-elm floodplain forest . In it there is a breeding colony of the gray heron . In addition, the nature reserve offers habitats for other bird species, some of which are threatened.
The area has been a nature reserve since August 21, 1982. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Osnabrück.
