Viktor Szélig ( Hungarian Szélig Viktor * 22. September 1975 in Dunaújváros ) is a former Hungarian hockey players , who for many years for Dunaferr SE Dunaujvaros in Hungary Hockey League and 2006-2015 the Briançon Alpes Provence HC in the French Ligue Magnus was active . Since the end of his career he has been working as an ice hockey trainer and manager.

Career

Viktor Szélig began his career as a hockey player in the youth of Dunaferr SE Dunaújváros , for whose professional team he was active in the Hungarian ice hockey league from 1994 to 2006 . During this time, the defender and his team won the national championship four times and the national cup eight times. Furthermore, Szélig was runner-up six times with Dunaferr SE Dunaújváros. In the summer of 2006, the Hungarian moved to Briançon Alpes Provence HC in the French Ligue Magnus , for which he has been on the ice since then. With Briançon he reached the runner-up and second place in the Coupe de la Ligue in 2008 and 2009 . In 2010, he and his team won the Coupe de France for the first time .

During the 2014/15 season he acted as player-coach at Briançon Alpes Provence HC before ending his career in 2015 and becoming general manager of the club. Szélig has been General Manager at Fehérvár AV19 from the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League since 2017 .

International

For Hungary , Szélig took part in the junior division at the U18 Junior C European Championship in 1992 and the U18 Junior B European Championship in 1993 and the U20 Junior C World Championships in 1993 , 1994 and 1995 .

In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division II in 1993 , 1994 , 1995 , 1997 and 2000 as well as in the World Championships in Division I in 1999 , 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2006 , 2008 , 2010 and 2011 , the World Championship of Division IA 2012 and the World Championship 2009 . He also ran for Hungary in qualifying for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games . From 2009 to 2011 he was the team captain of Hungary.
