action

Queen Helena rules England with her husband, King Simon. Helena had once married the British heir to the throne, and now she tries not to let the reins of the family slip out of hand. The royal family has to cope with the accidental death of the heir to the throne Robert, who died in a military exercise. Due to this stroke of fate, Helena has to cope with the loss of her son and the resulting marital problems, as well as taking care of her two other children, Liam and Eleanor.

Prince Liam, the second son, moves to first place in the line of succession due to the death of his brother. The pressure from the new responsibility weighs heavily on Liam, since he has just got together with Ophelia. For Helena, Ophelia is a thorn in the side, as she is not only a bourgeois, but also half-American (on her mother's side; born in England, grew up in the USA). She is also the daughter of security chief Ted. Liam receives support from his best friend and bodyguard, Marcus. Liam's twin sister Eleanor is known for her easy-going lifestyle, which is why she often clashes with her mother. Eleanor develops feelings for her bodyguard Jasper, who shows her that she has to choose between rebellion against the old rules and her calling as a role model.

Simon's brother Cyrus never expected a chance for the throne, but always enjoyed the privileges of the royal family. However, his machinations bring the royal family into disrepute, which is why Simon toyed with the idea of taking the royals out of the British state order. The power-conscious Helena tries to prevent this project by all means.

Reviews

“According to series creator Mark Schwahn, Shakespear's Hamlet served as a template. But the grotesque trash soap has more of a mix of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Gossip Girl (...) - shallowest entertainment. "
