Tiriolo is an Italian commune with 3746 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Catanzaro , Calabria region .

The area of ​​the municipality is at an altitude of 690 m above sea level and covers an area of ​​29.98 km² . The neighboring municipalities are Catanzaro , Gimigliano , Marcellinara , Miglierina , San Pietro Apostolo and Settingiano . The districts are Pratora, Sarrottino and Soluri. The German historian Armin Wolf has been an honorary citizen of Tiriolo since 2015. He advocates the thesis that the Phaeacians of the Odyssey were resident in Calabria and locates their capital near Tiriolo.
