Belcastro is an Italian city in the province of Catanzaro in Calabria with 1271 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Belcastro is located 46 km northeast of Catanzaro in the valley of the Nasari River . The neighboring communities are Andali , Botricello , Cerva , Cutro ( KR ), Marcedusa , Mesoraca (KR) and Petronà .

Attractions

The remains of a castle are preserved in the village. In the former cathedral there are wall decorations and silver objects from the 16th century. In the church of the Pietà there is a Byzantine Madonna. The Palazzo Poerio and Casa Forino are also worth seeing.
