Former grove of honor in Kunduz military camp , Afghanistan 2009

Since 1992, arrived at the Bundeswehr operations abroad 114  Bundeswehr members ( soldiers ), according to the army of 21 October 2019 killed. Of these, 37 fell through external influences and 22 died through suicide. Deviations from the Bundeswehr figures presumably arise, among other things, from the fact that in the following overview no suicides committed in Germany are counted due to a lack of evidence. The answer from the federal government to a small question from February 2019 points to this (Drucksache 19/7778).
