Toni Tapalović (born October 10, 1980 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German goalkeeping coach and former soccer goalkeeper . He has been under contract with FC Bayern Munich since the 2011/12 season .

Career

Born in Gelsenkirchen, Tapalović began playing football at the age of five at Fortuna Gelsenkirchen , a sports club in the Ückendorf district . In 1990 he moved to the youth department of FC Schalke 04 and was promoted to the amateur team in 1998 as an A-youth , for which he was used until 2002. In 1999 he received a professional contract valid until June 30, 2001, but in August 1999 he suffered a knee injury to the medial meniscus . After another year he moved to VfL Bochum in 2002 , where he worked until January 28, 2004. At both Bundesliga clubs he remained as a substitute goalkeeper without Bundesliga match practice . In January 2004 he moved to KFC Uerdingen 05 in the Regionalliga Nord , where he worked until June 30, 2005 and played 13 point games in both seasons. He played his first game on February 28, 2004 (20th match day) in a 3-0 win in the away game against Holstein Kiel . At the away games in Lübeck (0: 2) and at Hertha BSC II (0: 1) in April 2005, Tapalović was substituted on as a striker about twenty minutes before the end of the game, as his team had no outfield players available due to various injuries.

After he had been without a club for five months following his engagement in Uerdingen, the second division Kickers Offenbach took him under contract, with whom he was not used. In 2006 he returned to FC Schalke 04 and - after Frank Rost's departure in January 2007 - he was back in the professional squad as a substitute goalkeeper. In three seasons he played 21 point games for the second team. After a year without a club, he joined the second team of 1. FSV Mainz 05 for the 2010/11 season , for which he completed five point games in the fourth-class regional league . In October 2010, he tore a cruciate ligament and tore the inner ligament during a test match and was sidelined for six months, which prompted him to end his active goalkeeping career.

Since the 2011/12 season he has been under contract as the goalkeeping coach of FC Bayern Munich . a. Manuel Neuer , whom he knows from Gelsenkirchen times together.
