The Vaasan Palloseura (German Vaasaer Ballverein or Ballverein Vassa ), Vaasan PS or simply VPS for short , is a football club from the Finnish city of Vaasa , which currently plays in the Veikkausliiga , Finland's top division.
history
The club was founded in 1924 and plays its home games in the 4,600-seat Hietalahti Stadium , its club colors are black and white. The club's greatest successes were the two championships in 1945 and 1948. Later, VPS took part twice as runners-up in qualifying for the UEFA Cup , but could not qualify for the main round. In its history, the club has already seen nine promotions and eight relegations. After the last descent in 2002, Vaasa made it again in 2005. No other team in Finland switched between the first and second division as often.
