action

Donna Jensen lives in a small town in Nevada . She reads the biography of the flight attendant Sally Weston and dreams of a career as a flight attendant. Donna is first hired by a small airline. During this time she met Ted Stewart. The two lose sight of each other again. Donna is applying to a major airline with her colleagues Christine Montgomery and Sherry. Sherry does not pass the entrance exam, however. Donna meets Sally Weston and tries to get work on the international lines, but does poorly on a test when she was actually the best in her training group. Jensen is assigned to domestic flights and lives in Cleveland . There she runs into Ted, who, impressed by her determination, resumed his law studies a year ago, and falls in love with him.

Donna talks to Sally Weston about the test results, Weston has Donna fax the test to her. It is not filled in with Donna's handwriting. The women find out that Christine has switched the tests. Weston also recalls that numerous bars of soap were stolen from her bathroom while Christine was visiting. She calls security to have Christine be watched. Christine is later convicted of stealing company property and released.

Jensen is allowed to repeat the test, she passes it with the maximum number of points. She is offered flights to Paris, for which she would have to move to New York City . She takes the job for a while, but then returns to Cleveland out of love for Ted. Donna wants to spend her life with Ted because she can only be so happy. To do this, however, she has to give up her job as a flight attendant for long-haul flights.

In the final scene, you can see Donna as she as a pilot on a short-haul flight wishes her passengers a good day while landing in Cleveland.
