The Waltinger parish church of the Assumption

Walting is part of the municipality of Markt Pleinfeld in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen in Bavaria and has 320 inhabitants.

Walting lies at an altitude of 470 m. The village is located ten kilometers west of the Great Bromb axis . Located in the Franconian Lake District , Walting is eight kilometers west of Pleinfeld, on a connecting road between the state roads St 2389 and St 2226 . Mannholz is one kilometer north and Enhofen , Ettenstatt and Reisach are one kilometer south . To the east are the localities of Roxfeld and Haag .

The village used to have two churches. The lower church, St. Bartholomew , was closed in 1807. The upper church is the baroque parish church of Walting . The parish of Walting belongs to the diocese of Eichstätt .

On July 1, 1972, Walting was incorporated into the Pleinfeld market.

The “Waltinger Keller” was probably built around 1788 by the local Christoph brewery. The beer cellar , consisting of a rock cellar and cellar house, had a covered bowling alley . The cellar fell into disrepair during World War II .

Walting lies on the upper reaches or at the source of the Arbach . The Arbach meanders through the valley of the same name - Arbachtal - and flows into the Swabian Rezat in Pleinfeld .
