Word of Mouf ( English for: " word of mouth ") is the third solo album by the US rapper Ludacris . It was released on November 5, 2001 on the Disturbing tha Peace and Def Jam Recordings labels . On April 21, 2004 the album was re-released including DVD.
production
Ludacris himself and Chaka Zulu served as executive producers on the album . Five songs on the album were produced by music producer Bangladesh, while Jazze Pha and Organized Noize each contributed two instrumentals. Other beats come from Timbaland , Swizz Beatz , Jermaine Dupri , P. King, KLC and Jook.
Cover design
The album cover shows Ludacris wearing a huge afro and a brown dog. Both of them open their mouths wide and look at the viewer. In the upper part of the picture are the letters Ludacris in yellow and Word of Mouf in white, whereby the letter O of the word Mouf is represented by a red mouth.

In addition to Ludacris, other artists appear on 13 songs on the album. The rappers I-20 and Fate Wilson are most represented with four times each. The singers Nate Dogg and Sleepy Brown as well as the rappers Mystikal , Jazze Pha , Twista and Jermaine Dupri have other guest appearances . In addition, the R&B group Jagged Edge , the rap group Three 6 Mafia , the rapper Shawnna as well as Keon Bryce, 4-Ize and Chimere can each be heard on one song.

Word of Mouf entered the German album charts at number 98 on May 27, 2002 and left the Top 100 the following week. In the United States, the album reached number 3 and stayed in the top 200 for a total of 59 weeks, while in the United Kingdom it was at position 57 and stayed in the charts for three weeks.
As singles , the songs were AreaCodes , Rollout (My Business) , Saturday (Oooh Oooh!) , Welcome to Atlanta and Move Bitch decoupled.

Word of Mouf was in the United States for more than 3.6 million units sold in 2002, with 3-fold platinum excellent. In the UK, the album received a gold record for more than 100,000 sales in 2013 . This makes it the rapper's most commercially successful album.
