The Wyschejschaja Liha 1998 was the eighth season of the highest Belarusian league in men's football . It began on April 12, 1998 and ended on October 31, 1998.

The season started with 16 teams. After the first half of the season, Dinamo-93 Minsk was excluded due to a lack of financial resources and was the first to be relegated. All Dinamo-93 results were voided. The association was then dissolved.

The remaining 15 teams played twice against each other, divided into a first half and a second half. At the end of the season, the bottom of the table had to go to the Perschaja Liha .
