Łubki (German: Lubek ) is a village in Upper Silesia . It is located in the municipality of Zbrosławice (Broslawitz) in the powiat Tarnogórski (Tarnowitz district) in the Silesian Voivodeship .

Łubki is four kilometers west of the municipality Zbrosławice , 13 kilometers west of the district town Tarnowskie Góry ( Tarnowitz ) and 29 kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Katowice ( Kattowitz ).

history

The place probably originated in the 18th century and was first mentioned in the last quarter of the 18th century.

The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Additions to the Description of Silesia as Lubeck , belonged to a Karl von Strachwitz and was in the Tost district and had a farm, six farmers and 14 gardeners. In 1818 the place was mentioned as Lubeck . In 1865 Lubek had a manorial farm in which 596 sheep were kept, four farmers, 17 gardeners, ten cottagers, two chamber apartments and a manorial Kretscham (restaurant). The Freidorf colony also belonged to the community of Lubek . The residents of Lubek were parish and enrolled in Kamienietz, the Freidorf colony enrolled in Xiondslas.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 12 eligible voters voted to remain with Germany and 99 for membership in Poland. Lubek remained with the German Empire . On February 12, 1936, the place was renamed Borkental in the course of a wave of renaming during the Nazi era . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Tost-Gleiwitz .

In 1945 the formerly German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Łubki . In 1950 the place came to the Katowice Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Tarnogórski and the new Silesian Voivodeship.

Attractions

  • The neo-Gothic St. Mark's Chapel from the early 20th century with a bell tower and a facade made of red bricks. She has a figure of St. John Nepomuk.
