Żytkowizna is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Szczytno (rural municipality Ortelsburg ) in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ).

Żytkowizna is located in the southern center of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , twelve kilometers southeast of the district town of Szczytno ( German  Ortelsburg ).

There are no documents about the history of the forest settlement ( Osada leśna in Polish ), not even whether the place had a German name before 1945.

Today Żytkowizna is a village within the rural municipality of Szczytno in the Powiat Szczycieński , until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

Ecclesiastically, the place is aligned to the Protestant Church Szczytno , which belongs to the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland . He is also parish in the Roman Catholic Church Lipowiec (Lipowitz , 1933 to 1945 Lindenort) in the Archdiocese of Warmia .

Żytkowizna can be reached from the Polish state road 53 (former German Reichsstraße 134 ) in the Młyńsko junction in the direction of Lipowiec . There is no connection to rail traffic .
