Lipowiec Mały ( German  Klein Lipowitz , 1933 to 1945 Klein Lindenort ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Szczytno (rural municipality Ortelsburg ) in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ).

Lipowiec Mały is located in the southern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 17 kilometers southeast of the district town of Szczytno ( German  Ortelsburg ).

Klein Lipowitz was founded in 1879 when the first expansion yards were built in the Lipowitz district . The small place, consisting of several courtyards and farmsteads, was a residential area in the municipality of Lipowitz (1933 to 1945 Lindenort ) in the East Prussian district of Ortelsburg until 1945 . Analogous to the renaming of the mother community, Klein Lipowitz received the new and politically and ideologically adapted place name "Klein Lindenort" on May 31, 1933.

As a result of the war, the place came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and was given the Polish form of the name “Lipowiec Mały”. Today the place is "część wsi Lipowiec" (= "part of the village Lipowiec") within the rural community Szczytno (Ortelsburg) in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship belongs.

In terms of church, Klein Lipowitz / Klein Lindenort was parish off to Lipowitz (1933 to 1945 Lindenort ) on both the Catholic and Protestant sides before 1945 . Even today, the responsible Catholic parish church is in Lipowiec, which is now in the Archdiocese of Warmia . The church in Szcztyno is now responsible for the Protestant residents and is assigned to the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Lipowiec Mały can be reached via a side road from Lipowiec. There is no connection to rail traffic .
