Młyńsko is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Szczytno (rural municipality Ortelsburg ) in the Powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ).
Geographical location
Młyńsko is located on the Waldpusch River ( Polish Wałpusza ) in the southern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , four kilometers east of the district town of Szczytno ( German Ortelsburg ).
history
No evidence can be found about the history of the small village, not even whether the place had a German form of name before 1945, or whether it was only created after 1945. Today it is a village within the rural municipality of Szczytno in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ) and was thus part of the Olsztyn Voivodeship until 1998 and has been part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship since then .
To the west of the village is the Młyński Staw , which existed as a mill pond before 1945. It is a backwater of the Waldpusch river , which was created here with a dam. The weir was created in the period before 1945 and only remains are preserved. Before 1945, the mill pond is said to have been a popular destination for the Ortelsburg population, who called the rest area at the pond “Red Bridge”. The pond is very silted up today.
church
The church does not know anything about the time before 1945. Today Młyńsko is incorporated into the Roman Catholic Church of Szczytno in the Archdiocese of Warmia and the Protestant parish of Szczytno , which belongs to the Masurian Diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland .
traffic
Młyńsko is conveniently located on the Polish state road 53 (formerly German Reichsstraße 134 ), which connects southern Masuria with the Masovian Voivodeship from Olsztyn (Allenstein) . Side roads from the northern and southern neighboring regions also end in Młyńsko. The next train station is the district town of Szczytno on the two railway lines Olsztyn – Ełk and Ostrołęka – Szczytno , with the latter only being used from Chorzele .
