history

The former Sawitzmühle consisted of a water mill and a medium-sized courtyard. The place was founded in 1753, its owners were Jakob Krzykowski , later also Wilhelm Krzykowski .

In 1874 Sawitzmühle was incorporated into the Corpellen district in the East Prussian district of Ortelsburg and in 1908 came to the Corpellen estate, Forst. On April 1, 1931 Sawitzmühle was incorporated into Seedanzig (Polish Sędańsk ).

For political and ideological reasons to defend against foreign-sounding place names, Sawitzmühle was renamed "Heidmühle" on June 3rd - officially confirmed on July 16th - 1938.

In 1945 the city came in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Sawica". Today it is part of the rural community Szczytno (Ortelsburg) in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then it belongs to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Before 1945 Sawitzmühle resp. Heidmühle in the Protestant Church Neuhof (Neidenburg district) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic Church of Ortelsburg in the Diocese of Warmia . The ecclesiastical connection to the district town now exists for Sawica on the Protestant side: the place belongs to the Evangelical Church of Szczytno in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland , and also to the Catholic parish in Nowy Dwór in the Archdiocese of Warmia .
