Płozy ( German  Plohsen ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Szczytno (rural municipality Ortelsburg ) in the Powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ).

Geographical location

Płozy is located in the southern center of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , six kilometers east of the district town of Szczytno ( German  Ortelsburg ).

history

The Schatulldorf Plohsen was founded on February 24, 1788. The royal confirmation was made on March 31, 1788. Between 1874 and 1945, the village in the administrative district Wawrochen ( Polish Wawrochy ) incorporated, which - renamed "District German Heide" 1938 - the East Prussian district Szczytno belonged.

264 inhabitants were registered in Plohsen in 1910. In 1933 there were 271, and in 1939 there were 272.

In war-induced Plohsen 1945 came with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Plozy". With the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Sołectwo in Polish ), the village is now part of the rural community Szczytno (Ortelsburg) in the Powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . In 2011, Płozy had 412 inhabitants.

Until 1945 Plohsen was parish in the Evangelical Church of Klein Jerutten ( Jerutki in Polish ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic Church of Ortelsburg in what was then the Diocese of Warmia . Today Płozy belongs as before to the Catholic Church of the district town, now located in the Archdiocese of Warmia , and also to the Evangelical Parish Szczytno in the Diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

school

The school in Plohsen, founded in the age of Friedrich Wilhelm II , was given a new building in 1918.

traffic

Płozy is located south of the Polish state road 53 (formerly German Reichsstraße 134 ) and can be reached via the branch in Młyńsko on a side road towards Lipowiec (Lipowitz , 1933 to 1945 Lindenort ). There is no connection to rail traffic .
