history

7.3 cm propaganda grenade 41

This launcher, which was specially built for the Wehrmacht's propaganda troops, only came to the front in small numbers from 1941 onwards. The point of this thrower was to shoot leaflets with propaganda at the opponent.

construction

The propaganda launcher consisted of a 12.26 kg steel structure with a 74.9 cm long guide rail in the middle. The launcher was attached to the ground with ground spurs before use. He fired the propaganda grenade 41 (also known as the pamphlet bullet), a rocket bullet that weighed 3.24  kg and could carry around 227 g of leaflets (the equivalent of more than 100 leaflets). The missile projectile disintegrated in the air after a predetermined time and the leaflets were ejected by a spring so that they fell over a larger area. Firing ranges of up to 3500 m were possible.
