The 75 mm cavalry gun Type 41 ( Japanese 四 一 式 騎 砲 , Yon'ichishiki Kihō ) was a field gun that was used by the cavalry of the Imperial Japanese Army in the Second Sino-Japanese War , the Japanese-Soviet border conflict and during the Pacific War was used from 1908 to 1945. The designation Type 41 indicates the year the troops were introduced, the 41st year of the rule of Emperor Meiji or 1908 according to the Gregorian calendar.

The first drafts of the Type 41 cavalry gun began in 1905 and the design was a further development of the 75 mm field gun Type 38 , but was about 50 kg lighter and intended for use by the cavalry. Just like the Type 38, the Type 41 had a hydropneumatic recoil mechanism, a protective shield, and a single spar . A change to the Type 38 was the introduction of an interrupted screw cap on the Type 41 and the reduction in the weight of the grenades.
